HEAL ALL | skin balm

from CA$24.00

reduces redness, irritation, and anti-inflammatory

This Balm is for the truly sensitive, impaired skin types and helps to calm and balance redness, guiding it to comfort and radiance.

There has been some trial and error on this formula but luckily for me I have lots of faces to try my new creations on. This was created with a few clients in mind, but one in particular with Perioral Dermatitis.

Those of you that have this condition know it’s a very stubborn condition, that even doctors have an issue helping as cortisone makes it worse (and is not a permanent answer anyways). It’s quite unlike other types of dermatitis. Fluoride can be the cause, or using something that damaged the skin barrier like a stripping face cleanser. Finding out what causes it, is part of the healing process.

This balm isn’t just great on eczema or dermatitis, but any inflammatory condition, like redness and cystic acne. With some of the new herbal additions there will be even more skin improvement with a slow infusion of self heal, yarrow, comfrey & plantain to help support the skin's natural healing process. The base is Sheabutter as to not hold heat, some waxes are too suffocating for inflammation in the skin. Also this has the least amount of essential oils to keep sensitive reactive skin happy.

PLANT HEROES

Lemon Balm (Melissa) - we have used it infused in our base oil and the essential oil. Great for sensitive combination skin as it helps with its harmonising powers to restore a healthy balance. It’s also said to ”renew youth.”

Comfrey - Extracts of comfrey applied externally help to heal pulled muscles, sprains, twisted ankles, bone fractures, wounds, and ulcers. Swelling and pain are reduced and cell renewal accelerated. In fact healing can be so rapid if a wound was uncleaned prior, the wound can trap dirt or pus.

Chickweed - such a tasty little weed, but also know for calming itch, eczema and skin irritation.

Self-heal - for its healing ability and antibacterial properties. New studies also show it has the ability to protect skin cells from UV damage.

Skullcap - the leaves are high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, also due to a flavanoid called biacalin it is an amazing cellular regenerator that increases the firmness of our skin and its elasticity while also protecting against sun damage.

Pomegranate – one of my favorite oils as its thick and luscious, allowing it to penetrate deeply and is incredibly healing to skin barriers that have been damaged by inflammation.

RITUAL

Warm a small amount of balm (1/2 - 1 peas size) between fingers and apply a thin layer to face, eyes, lips and neck after misting with Hydrosol. This product can also be used on the body as needed, and makes a great mask.

PRO TIPS

Heal All is a great hydrating mask - apply a thick layer to clean skin, leave on 30 minutes (or overnight) and remove with a warm compress. it's also a perfect massage medium - apply a peanut-sized amount and use your favorite tool (gua sha, roller, hands), then rinse off and follow your regular routine. It can also be used anywhere on the body. It would have a place in any medicine cabinet for its healing and regenerating properties.

BALM TEXTURE TIP

Sometimes when balms are heated & cooled, they can develop a gritty texture. That's totally normal. If that happens, place your balm jar (minus the jar lid, which is not heat safe) on a cookie sheet and place the cookie sheet in the oven. Heat the oven on the lowest setting (at or below 200f) for 5-15 minutes or until fully liquid (no longer than 20 minutes). Carefully remove the cookie sheet (with the balm on it) from the oven (use oven mitts!). Allow the balm to cool on the cookie sheet at room temperature. Make sure to place the cookie sheet on a level spot like a countertop or table so it doesn't spill. Once the balm jar is cool enough to touch comfortably but the balm is still liquid, place the balm jar (minus cookie sheet) in the freezer and place the jar lid on the jar loosely. Allow the balm to harden overnight in the freezer. Then it should be good to go!
